"Marshall" Study

My favorite painting times are when I'm capturing portraits from life. Studying from life is just as important for painters as scales are for musicians (but way more fun). So I'm trying to make life studies a regular part of my routine again. Last week, I got to attend another group portrait painting session at the Cathy Kline Gallery and painted this portrait sketch of Marshall.

The life session was about 3 hours, and then I spent several more hours finishing up back home. I painted this study relatively quickly, so I can sell it for lower than normal.
