Red Velvet

Roses are red, shadows are blue, orange you excited to see my new painting? :)

These roses are from the bouquet I gave to my wife, Andrea for Valentine's Day. I set up this still life outside on one of our first warm days this year. I haven't done many still lifes under direct sunlight, so I wanted to give it a try. The roses were already vibrant, but the sunlight made them explode with color! It was such a joy to capture those rich, velvety reds.
